Present there were scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers and officials of different units including the Ferrous Metal Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex.

The participants heard more than 80 valuable papers dealing with the achievements and experience gained in increasing the production of iron and steel by rounding off the Juche-based iron-making technology of Korean-style and putting production processes on a modern and CNC basis.

There was a lecture on the trend of developing metal industry and scientific and technical issues arising in putting production processes on a modern and CNC basis.
