Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- The full-length novel "Dignity" written by Pak Thae Su was published by the April 15 Literary Production Centre with the approach of the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). It is part of the cycle of novels "Immortal History." The novel impressively tells about the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by decisively shattering the moves of the U.S. imperialists to stifle the DPRK and protect the sovereignty and dignity of Juche Korea. In January, Juche 57 (1968) seamen of the Korean People's Army (KPA) captured the U.S. spy ship Pueblo which intruded into the territorial waters of the DPRK. The novel takes this period as its setting. The novel recalls the U.S. imperialists threatened to ignite a total war unless the DPRK sends back the spy ship and its crewmen, making absurd pretexts in the wake of the capture of the ship. The President clarifies the stand of the WPK, the KPA and the DPRK government to react to the U.S. "retaliation" with stronger counteraction and to the total war with all-out war and powerfully aroused all the service personnel and people to the decisive struggle to protect the dignity of the country, the novel notes. It makes profound and truthful representation of the historical facts that while leading the confrontation without gunfire to victory, the President equipped all the people with a Juche-oriented view on a war, guided military and foreign affairs with his iron-willed courage and guts, brilliant strategy and leadership art and steadily pushed ahead with the work for improving the people's living standard and economic construction. The novel impressively tells about the great personality of leader Kim Jong Il guiding the service personnel and people to one victory after another. |
