Present at the seminar were delegates of 15 political parties and organizations and figures of various circles of ten countries including Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Moldova and Estonia.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Russia and staff members of his embassy.

Taysaev, secretary of the C.C. the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and first vice-chairman of the Central Council of the Union of Communist Parties-Communist Party of the Soviet Union, made an opening address.

Then Umalatova, chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, Yermalabichs, secretary of the C.C., the Estonian Communist Party, Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, and others made speeches.

They said that the lesson drawn from the reality of socialist Korea which has invariably held aloft the banner of socialism despite the imperialists' pressure and blockade for several decades is that the collapse of the Soviet Union, a powerful socialist state, was not merely a product of the imperialists' moves.

The basic reason for its collapse lay in the irresponsibility of the leadership of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union at that time which yielded to the imperialists, abandoning the faith in socialism, they noted.

Saying that the socialist cause led by the WPK is sure to triumph, they mentioned that all the ideologies and theories advanced by the WPK are the precious assets to be regarded by those struggling for the revival of socialism as guidelines.

A congratulatory message to supreme leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
