New Medal Instituted in DPRK

| Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, which appeared as a grand monumental structure of lasting value in the land of Mt. Paektu, is a proud monument of youth in the great era of Kim Jong Un making a leap forward full of youthful dynamism. The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK decided to institute a medal marking the construction of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station in order to convey to posterity the feats performed by the members of the youth shock brigade and builders who successfully built the hero youth power station as an icon of the power of the youth, leaving a shining mark in the sacred history of the Workers' Party of Korea. A relevant decree was released on Sunday. The medal has five-pointed star with golden rays 38mm in diameter and 27mm circle in it. There are letters "Yongung Chongnyon" in a fluttering flag in the upper part of the circle and Mt. Paektu, dam of the power station, power transmission tower and woods of larch in the lower part of it. Its miniature medal decoration has a metal flat 33mm in width and 10mm in length. |
