Speakers said precious agreements have not yet been implemented though eight years have passed since the publication of the October 4 declaration, and the south-north relations remain strained.

In order to bring about a new turn in the south-north relations it is necessary to sincerely implement the already agreed south-north joint declarations, they noted.

To this end, it is imperative to pave the way for improving the relations by implementing the points agreed upon at the urgent contact, to begin with, and revive NGO exchange by lifting the "May 24 step", they stressed.

They urged the authorities not to pin hope to the countries which try to fish in troubled waters by taking advantages of the division of the south and the north but work to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
