Papers Assail S. Korean Vessel's Piracy
Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA)-- A south Korean vessel deliberately slammed into the DPRK's fishing boat Turubong-3 in the East Sea of Korea on Oct. 1 before taking to flight.

Leading newspapers here Wednesday carry commentaries in this regard.

Rodong Sinmun says in the light of the overall course of the incident, the south Korean vessel deliberately rammed into the DPRK's boat. This can be evidenced by the fact that the surrounding was very bright and the DPRK boat suffered a serious damage and the south Korean vessel made a hasty getaway.

If the south Korean vessel had collided with the DPRK's boat by mistake, it should have rendered necessary help to the crew of the DPRK side who sustained damage in the light of requirement of international law and morality and etiquette in the sea, the paper says, and goes on:

In the past when south Korean fishermen drifted about at the mercy of rough storm in sea, we rescued them, repaired their damaged ships with sincerity and sent them back even with sufficient food loaded on their ships. This was prompted by noble humanitarianism and compatriotism.

The recent case clearly proves the nature of "humanitarianism" touted by the south Korean authorities.

What should be taken seriously is that the recent case happened at a time when the south Korean authorities' anti-DPRK provocation has reached its height, prompted by their design to chill the atmosphere of improving the north-south relations.

The south Korean ship's reckless act was a deliberate provocation orchestrated by the south Korean authorities to render the north-south relations tense and realize their sinister aim.

Minju Joson also urges the south Korean authorities to make an apology and compensation to the DPRK for their recent crime if they have even an iota of willingness to improve the north-south relations, and severely punish those involved in the case.
