An unveiling ceremony of the statues took place with splendor on Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and Choe Ryong Hae, and officials concerned, labor innovators, shock brigade members, service personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces (KPISF), working people, youth and students in the province.

Senior party, state and army officials and leading officials of the province unveiled the statues.

A floral basket in the name of Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, was placed before the statues.

Laid there were a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet and a floral basket in the name of the people in the province.

Also placed there were floral baskets in the name of party and power bodies, working people's organizations, institutions and industrial establishments, farms, universities in the province and KPA and KPISF units.

The participants made bows to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il before the statues in humble reverence.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, made an address.

He said that the erection of the statues of the great leaders in Haeju City is a special event of great significance in glorifying forever their revolutionary careers and exploits and a great honor and happiness of the people in the province.

Every place of the province is associated with outstanding and tested leadership of the great leaders and their warm love for the people, he noted, adding:

Kim Jong Un showed such profound loving care as making sure that their statues were erected in Haeju City on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK.

Being briefed on the statues, the participants looked round them.
