On this occasion the Korean people recall the great feats performed by leader Kim Jong Il for the strengthening of the WPK.

He formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and set forth a programme of modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism, thus providing the guiding idea and action program to be taken by a revolutionary party in the era of independence.

He developed the President's idea of attaching importance to arms into the idea of Songun (military-first) revolution, theory of the Songun politics and advanced the theory of building a thriving socialist nation so that the WPK could lead the revolution and construction to victory.

He advanced a unique policy of modeling the whole party on Kimilsungism and energetically guided the work for its materialization, bringing about a radical turn in the party's organizational and ideological construction and leadership art.

Under his energetic guidance, the WPK turned into an integral whole knitted together in ideological and organizational aspects and action and into a mother party faithfully serving the popular masses and a force guiding the Songun revolution.

In praise of his undying feats for the party and the country and in reflection of the desire of the party members and all other people, the Fourth Conference of the WPK, convened in April Juche 101 (2012), adopted a decision on acclaiming leader Kim Jong Il as its eternal general secretary.

The WPK shining with the august names of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il will lead the army and people in the DPRK only along the road of victory and glory under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un forever, displaying the dignity of Songun Korea.
