Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the WPK, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters Hwang Sun Hui, Kim Chol Man, Kim Ok Sun, Pak Kyong Suk and Ri Yong Suk, delegates to the celebrations of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK, officials of the party and armed forces organ, Cabinet and working people's organizations, youth and students in Pyongyang, overseas compatriots congratulatory groups and delegations including the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan, overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were delegations of various countries on a visit the DPRK to participate in the celebrations of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK, foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies, military attaches of foreign embassies here and other foreign guests.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, made a report.

The WPK is a glorious party of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il which has created a new history of building a revolutionary party having the great leaders at its head for 70 years, the reporter said, and went on:

The guiding ideology of the WPK and its historic roots, its foundation and development were ascribable to the great leaders and the party's absolute authority and might are associated with their sacred august names.

Kim Il Sung founded the immortal Juche idea in the early period of the Korean revolution, laid down the original policy for founding the party, provided a firm organizational and ideological foundation for party building and established shining revolutionary traditions in the flames of the anti-Japanese struggle and proclaimed the founding of the party before the whole world on their basis on October 10, Juche 34 (1945).

The President's founding of the party made it possible for the Korean people to confidently advance along the road of creating a new society and a new life with their reliable vanguard and political staff and usher in a new era of building a revolutionary party advancing under the banner of independence in the human history of politics.

Kim Jong Il successfully carried forward and developed the President's idea and the cause of party-building by leading the party and revolution for half a century.

Thanks to the original idea and theory of Kim Jong Il and his wise leadership a radical change took place in all fields of the party building and activities, the WPK remarkably grew stronger to be a party of Kim Il Sung both in name and in reality and the might of the WPK as an ever-victorious guide of carrying out the cause of Juche revolution and the cause of Songun revolution dramatically increased.

The WPK has grown strong under the guidance of the leaders, having the outstanding leaders at the top post generation after generation.

Unprecedented in the history was the great and glorious party shining with the august names of the great leaders who founded the party and developed it.

As the WPK has become an ideologically pure entity, an integral organization and the party which achieved the unity of actions in which all its members single-mindedly share breath with the leader and act as one, no matter how frequently the generation of the revolution is replaced by a new one and no matter how the circumstances of the times may change, our party could cover a glorious road thanks to dynamic advance and steady succession without knowing any twist and turn.

The new century of the Juche revolution rushing forward to the world in the spirit of At a Go sailing with the blizzards of Paektu is a victorious one in which the greatness and leadership ability of the WPK will be demonstrated at the best level and cheers for the WPK heard from all parts of the country.

The ever-victorious history of the WPK, the party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, will last forever with the peerlessly great man of Mt. Paektu at the helm generation after generation. This is the immovable truth of the service personnel and people of the DPRK, looking back on the glorious 70-year history of the WPK and foreseeing the rosy future to last for 700, 7 000 years to come.

The reporter underscored the need to boost the fighting capability of the party and more dynamically accelerate the general march for hastening a final victory as required by the era of great change and new era of the Juche revolution.
