Present at the talks from the WPK's side were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Chang Gun, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, and other officials of the Party Central Committee and from the CPC's side were members of the CPC delegation headed by Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Li Chenqun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

At the talks both sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual concern.
