Reception Given in Russia to Mark WPK's 70th Birthday
Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- The DPRK embassy in Moscow hosted a reception on Oct. 8 on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there on invitation were Melinikov, first deputy speaker of the State Duma of Russia, delegates of the parliament, political parties, government and organizations including the United Russia Party, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, A Just Russia, Liberal Democratic Party, All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Development of Far East, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Culture, Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, Moscow Veterans' Committee, Orchestra of the 21st Century and the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia and media persons.

Present there were Kim Hyong Jun, DPRK ambassador to Russia, and members of his embassy.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the full-length picture of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

They looked round the photos documenting the undying feats of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Melinikov said that over the past 70 years the WPK has led to victory the Korean people's struggle for building a new country, the Fatherland Liberation War, postwar rehabilitation and construction, socialist construction and national reunification.

He wished the WPK bigger successes in the struggle for building a thriving socialist nation.
