DFRK Founding Proposal Hailed by Overseas Koreans
Tokyo, October 10 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan made public statements on Oct. 8 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

Ri Tong Je, chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, said that the proposal set forth by President Kim Il Sung is the most realistic and reasonable way for achieving Korea's reunification independently, peacefully and in the principle of great national unity as it calls for founding a federal state through federation of the north and the south while allowing each other's idea and social system in conformity with the country's specific conditions.

For its validity, the proposal has aroused full support and approval of not only all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad but also progressives of the world supporting peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, he noted.

Kim Yong Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, praised the proposal as a fresh and unique one for national reunification.

Choe Yong Hae, vice-chairperson of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, said the proposal is a grand blueprint showing the path for building a reunified state and it is a precious legacy left by the President for the nation.
