Present there were Ri Ryong Nam, minister of External Economic Relations, Pak Myong Guk, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, officials concerned, working people in Pyongyang, a Russian government delegation led by Alexandr Galushka, minister of Development of Far East, a delegation of the United Russia Party headed by Andrei Klimov, member of the Standing Committee of the General Council of the party and vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, and other Russian guests, Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

Speeches were made there.

Ri Ryong Nam said that there took place between the two countries exchanges of delegations of different level including visits of high-ranking officials in the political, economic and cultural and all other fields, and political and cultural events in the period of the year of DPRK-Russia friendship.

He expressed belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia would grow stronger, saying that it is a consistent stand of the DPRK government to steadily develop the relations with Russia.

Alexandr Galushka said that the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK are favorably developing under the deep care of President Putin and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He said that Russia would make all efforts for peace on the Korean Peninsula and the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Alexandr Matsegora referred to the fact that multi-faceted exchanges in various fields including the joint performances of the State Merited Chorus and the Chongbong Band which were given in Russia contributed to demonstrating the comradely and friendly relations between the two countries.
