Cuban Personage Reaffirms Support to WPK, Korean People
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in Havana on Oct. 9 under the sponsorship of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there were a member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the CPC who doubles as vice-president of the Council of State and first secretary of the Havana Provincial Committee of the CPC, Kenia Serrano Puig, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Ana Teresita Gonzalez, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, the secretary general of the Organziation of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America, and other personages concerned and more than 500 members of the CPC.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and his embassy officials.

A member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee in a speech said:

President Kim Il Sung put an end to the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea through armed struggle and founded the WPK, a vanguard unit for struggle, on Oct. 10, 1945, give a continuity to the revolutionary cause.

Leader Kim Jong Il rallied the people around the party true to the last instructions of the President and advanced the socialsit cause.

The CPC reaffirms its steady support to the WPK and the Korean people in their struggle to independently reunify the country free from outsiders' interference.

At the end of the meeting, a performance was given by artistes of Cuba.
