Compatriots' Paper Marks Anniversaries of WPK Founding and October 4 Declaration

| Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Thongil, the paper of the International United Confederation of Koreans, carried special write-ups on Oct. 8 on the occasions of the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 8th anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration. The paper carried a photo of leader Kim Jong Il meeting with the south Korean "President" Roh Moo Hyun in Pyongyang in October, 2007. It edited the full text of "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity ". It carried a photo of the Monument to Party Founding on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the WPK. An article titled "70th founding anniversary of the WPK" said the WPK founded on Oct. 10, 1945 is the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people. The paper noted that the north-south summit was provided in Pyongyang eight years ago and the October 4 declaration was adopted. |
