DPRK Marks World Statistics Day 2015
Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- A dissemination of SDHS 2014 results took place at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club here on Tuesday to mark the World Statistics Day 2015.

Made at the dissemination were speeches on such subjects as "Key Highlights from the Survey", "SDHS over View and Validation of Inter-Censal Household Listing" and "Household Particulars and Social, Economic Characteristics of the Population".

Speakers elaborated on the results of SDHS 2014 conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Population Center of the DPRK in cooperation with UNFPA.

Jang Myong Son, section chief of the Central Bureau of Statistics, told KCNA that SDHS 2014 results show the population and reproductive health conditions in the DPRK. The survey collected for the first time data on the population aging-self perceived health status of elderly, he said.

Present at the dissemination were officials of the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Population Centre of the DPRK, the country director for UNFPA to the DPRK, office members of international bodies and envoys and staff members of various embassies here.

The theme of the World Statistics Day 2015 is "Better Data, Better Lives".
