S. Korean Authorities Slammed for Moving to Introduce "State-compiled Textbook"
Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Writers Association issued a statement in the name of 1 217 writers on Oct. 19 to denounce the conservative group for moving to introduce the "state-compiled history textbook", according to Voice of People, an internet paper of south Korea.

Such move kicked off by the regime is a tyrannical action for embellishing the pro-Japanese action and the past history of dictatorial power and writing off the history of democracy and independence, the statement said.

The history expressing the Japanese imperialists' pillage as "export" and killing as "punitive operation" is the one to be compiled by the regime, it noted.

The history cannot be a monopoly of a handful of those in power, it said.
