Nigerian Body Praises Exploits of DIU

| Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism posted on its website an article titled "Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) and Workers' Party of Korea (WPK)" on October 15 on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK and the 89th anniversary of the formation of DIU. The article said that President Kim Il Sung formed the DIU in October 1926 and it has special significance in the modern history of Korea as it is the roots of the WPK, guiding force of the Korean society. Referring to the immediate tasks and the final goal of the DIU and significance of its formation, the article said that the programme of the DIU based on the transparent idea of independence against imperialism became the foundation of the programme of the WPK which was founded on October 10, 1945. It went on: The WPK was founded with the vanguard fighters of the new generation brought up by the DIU as backbone. They made great contribution to laying the organizational and ideological foundation for founding the party during the arduous anti-Japanese revolution. |
