Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities should refrain from attempted introduction of the "system of state-compiled history textbooks" and pay attention to ensuring workers' vital rights and social democracy. So Song Il, director of the Socio-politics Institute under the Academy of Social Sciences in the DPRK, said this, referring to the fact that the conservative ruling forces of south Korea seek to revise the history textbooks by dint of power despite the opposition of historians, teachers and students and others. He said: In south Korea the living conditions of workers and peasants are getting worse due to the retrogressive revision of labor law and total opening of rice market by the chief executive. It is well evidenced by the fact that workers in Seoul and Changwon of South Kyongsang Province recently staged large-scale strikes and anti-"government" rallies. But, the conservative ruling forces is now stepping up the scheme to introduce the "system of state-compiled history textbooks", urging the Ministry of Education to sternly cope with the Teachers Union opposing it. The south Korean people are rejecting the introduction as a "coup d'etat against history" and a move to beautify the past "Yusin" dictatorship and the anti-social policies of the present regime. The south Korean conservative ruling forces' scheme to revive the "Yusin" dictatorship is doomed to face a stern punishment of history. |
