Achievements Made in Traditional Medicine of DPRK
Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- A WHO Southeast Asia regional workshop on traditional medicine took place here some days ago.

At the workshop, Choe Tuk Ryong, director of the Academy of Koryo Medicine in the DPRK, referred to the recent achievements made in Koryo (traditional) medicine of the country.

According to him, the chart of meridian nerve points was completed to put acupuncture on a more scientific basis and various kinds of efficacious Koryo medicines were developed.

A signal progress was made in treating ischemic cerebral apoplexy and adiposity through combination of traditional and modern medicines.

Meanwhile such books on traditional medicine were published, in cooperation with the WHO, as "Koryo Medicine Dictionary", "Koryo Acupuncture Dictionary", "Koryo Clinical Medicine", "Collection of Folk Remedy" and "Clinical Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Manipulation".
