Demo Staged in S. Korea against Opening of Rice Market

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Members of the Federation of Peasants Associations of south Korea staged a demonstration in Seoul on Oct. 27 in protest against the authorities' policy of opening rice market, according to south Korean MBC.

They held that the "safe measure for rice demand and supply" taken by the "government" and the "Saenuri Party" could never meet the basic needs of the peasants.

Calling for stop to the import of foreign rice, they declared that they would launch a dynamic action against the "government" which abandoned food sovereignty.
