Parents of S. Korean Students Protest against Authorities' Moves to Rewrite History

| Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet paper Oh My News said parents of students in Ryangsan area of South Kyongsang Province on October 28 sent a joint declaration signed by 1 459 persons to the Ministry of Education in protest against the authorities' moves to tamper with history. In this regard the parents held a press conference in the City Office building that day. Speakers said they signed the declaration, unable to see the foundation of education shaking owing to the moves to introduce "state- compiled" history textbooks. On October 27 parents of students had the text of the joint declaration together with ads critical of those textbooks carried on a newspaper. |
