A stadium with football field, volleyball and basketball courts and a running track appeared at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex in Songrim City, North Hwanghae Province and a gymnasium covering an area of thousands of square meters in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province.

Various sports establishments were built or renovated in North Phyongan Province. Gymnasiums took their shapes in Kwaksan and Yomju counties, swimming and wading pools in Hyangsan County and a gymnasium for 20-odd sports events at Sinuiju Teacher Training College.

Besides, sports parks and other facilities appeared in Jagang and South Hwanghae provinces to incite the inhabitants' enthusiasm for sports activities.
