S. Korean Newspaper Slams Conservatives for Insulting and Threatening Students
|
|
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore on Nov. 8 carried an editorial denouncing the conservative organizations for insulting and threatening students opposed to the "state-compiled" history textbooks. The violence committed by the conservative organizations against students has reached a serious phase, the editorial said, and went on: They opened to public the names of students and schools which voiced opposition to the textbook, insulting them as "depraved souls". What is deplorable is the desperate efforts of the authorities to turn back the clock of history through the introduction of the "state-compiled" textbooks. What the ultra-right conservative elements seek is to intensify suppression under the pretext of security even by sacrificing students. However, the authorities are shutting their eyes to the acts of the conservative bodies. |
