The conference laid bare the U.S. acts of gravely threatening peace and security on the peninsula and adopted declarations and resolution voicing support for the Korean people and youth in their struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country by concerted efforts of all Koreans.

It also adopted a statement of the WFDY calling for defusing the danger of a nuclear war on the peninsula and achieving durable peace and reunification.

The statement said:

We bitterly denounce the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK, source of the crisis on the Korean Peninsula, and strongly demand the U.S. and its followers put an end to the reckless nuclear war rackets against the DPRK and withdraw all nuclear war hardware from south Korea without delay.

The present south Korean authorities should stop the frantic war moves to invade the north which may spark off another Korean war, heinous human rights row and anti-reunification confrontation campaigns at once and opt for reconciliation and unity of the nation and reunification under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

We call upon all the progressive youth and people of the world to positively join the Korean people in their struggle to replace the armistice agreement with a peace treaty to definitely defuse the danger of a war on the peninsula.
