The Syrian paper Al Thawrah on November 10 in an article titled "The WPK convenes the 7th Congress of the Party early in May next year, dynamic struggle for building a thriving nation" said:

Today the Workers' Party and people of Korea started general offensive to build a thriving socialist nation and dynamic advance toward the 7th Congress of the Party in high spirit of being victors who glorified the 70th anniversary of the WPK as a great auspicious event for prosperous Songun Korea, rallied close around supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Holding fast to the line and principle of independence, Songun and socialism as its eternal strategy for 70 years, the WPK has led the revolution and construction and thus trained the Korean people as a dignified and independent people and a powerful driving force of the revolution.

It has also honorably defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the gains of the revolution, establishing the tradition of victory in the confrontation with imperialism that has lasted century after century and laid an eternal foundation for the prosperity of the country and the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The Egyptian paper Al-Misaiya on November 11 also reported about the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK to convene the 7th Congress of the Party.
