Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, said in a speech at a meeting on Nov. 14 that socialism failed in the former Soviet Union and East European countries but the socialist red flag was defended in the DPRK under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il made sure that Pyongyang Declaration "Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism" was adopted when the world socialist cause faced the greatest challenge, demonstrating the firm will to develop the socialist cause to the world.

Dermot Hudson, chairman of the Korean Friendship Association UK, said:

Kim Il Sung is a model internationalist.

He defended the Soviet Union with arms during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.

The celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea in the presence of Marshal Kim Jong Un were historic events that showed socialism is making steady victorious progress.

The world progressive forces have to turn out in the drive to support the socialist cause in the DPRK holding high the red flag.
