Ruling Party Accused of Justifying Crackdown in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The North Kyongsang provincial alliance, Songju County peasants association and Koryong County peasants association under the south Korean Federation of Peasants Associations held a press conference in Chilgok County, North Kyongsang Province on Nov. 17 in denunciation of the south Korean ruling party for justifying the fascist violence, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Jaju Sibo.

At the conference speakers referred to the fact that Lee Wan Yong, an assemblyman from the "Saenuri Party", said it is reasonable that the policemen shot civilians to death in the U.S. and that the advanced countries should do like that.

His remarks are aimed at patronizing police who made Paek Nam Ki, a farmer, fall into a serious condition at an all-out people's action held around Kwanghwamun and Chonggye Plaza in Seoul on Nov. 14.

Speakers said that they can never tolerate the remarks of the assemblyman from the ruling party turning a deaf ear to the voices of the farmers for the rights to existence.

They stressed that all the farmers in North Kyongsang Province will certainly judge Lee Wan Yong and the "Saenuri Party".
