Introduction of "State-Compiled History Textbook" Opposed by S. Korean Teachers
Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Teachers under the National Teachers Union of south Korea are waging a struggle against the authorities' move for introducing the "state-compiled history textbook", according to the south Korean Kyunghyang Daily News.

More than 1,500 teachers under the union held a rally in Kwanghwamun, Seoul on Nov. 20 urging the authorities to cancel the introduction of the "state-compiled history textbook" and halt the crackdown upon the trade unions.

That day each city and provincial branch of the union held meetings across the country and issued appeals denouncing the authorities' move for introducing the "state-compiled history textbook".
