Maps with Tok Islets Marked as Part of Korean Territory Published in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The society for cultivating our culture of south Korea published a "collection of old Japanese maps" (vol. 1) in which Japan marked Tok Islets as part of the territory of Korea in the past and opened it to public at a meet-the press in Seoul on Nov. 20.

The collection includes 30 maps. Most of them were drafted and published with the direct involvement of the Japanese government. Tok Islets are commonly marked as part of the territory of Korea.

The map of great three kingdoms used different colors to mark Korea and Japan to show a clear distinction between them and Ullung Island and Tok Islets were colored yellow like Korea, proving they belong to Korea.

They even had explanation reading "Korea's" next to letters "Takeshima" meaning Ullung Island and Matsushima meaning Tok Islets.

All this proves that Japan recognized Tok Islets as part of the territory of Korea from long ago.
