The south Korean chief executive sent a "video message" to this burlesque in which she cried out for a "rapid reaction to the provocation from the north and establishment of perfect military posture".

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Saturday says:

The Yonphyong Island shelling incident was a just striking action of the DPRK's army which never pardons those infringing upon its dignity and sovereignty and an admirable retaliatory battle which taught the reckless warmongers what a dear price they had to pay for their provocation.

The south Korean authorities kicked up confrontation hysteria, again ridiculously describing the Yonphyong Island shelling incident as "provocation from the north." This was nothing but a foolish charade aimed to cover up their true colors as reckless provocateurs against the DPRK and retrieve their disgraceful bitter defeat at any cost.

What merits attention is that the confrontation racket was timed to coincide with the working-level contact for talks between authorities of the north and the south. This burlesque was a challenge to the sincere efforts of the DPRK for the inter-Korean dialogue and the improvement of the relations as it was evidently a reckless provocation to chill the climate for mending the relations.

It is by no means accidental that the south Korean authorities staged such charade rattling the nerves of the dialogue partner under the pretext of observing the above-said anniversary just before the inter-Korean dialogue. This fully revealed their inveterate hostility and intention to escalate the confrontation with the compatriots in the north.

They would be well advised to cool their heads heated with confrontation hysteria, come to their senses and refrain from making remarks getting on the nerves of their dialogue partner and creating a catastrophic situation.
