Noting that the south Korean authorities retracted their plan for live shell firing toward waters of the DPRK side for fear of its retaliatory action but staged a provocative firing drill in the waters around the five islands in the West Sea, the most sensitive area, the statement said:

What merits a more serious attention is that they held a "memorial service" in Seoul on the fifth anniversary of the Yonphyong Island shelling incident.

At the "service" they didn't utter even a word of apology for the provocations they perpetrated for aggression against the DPRK five years ago, but shamelessly worked hard to shift the blame for the incident onto the DPRK.

What touched off irrepressible resentment was that the south Korean warmongers committed the act of hurting the dignity of its supreme leadership, not content with recklessly tearing to pieces the flag of the DPRK in the heart of Seoul, sins that deserve punishment by Heaven.

Such military and political saber-rattling go to prove that they have no idea of observing the inter-Korean agreement while persistently pursing the confrontation policy of aggression against the DPRK.

The south Korean warmongers would be held fully accountable for the consequences to be entailed by their provocations.
