New York Times Raps "Yusin" Dictatorship in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Kyunghyang Daily News and other south Korean newspapers simultaneously carried an editorial of the New York Times critical of the south Korean regime's "yusin" dictatorial rule.

The New York Times in its editorial on Nov. 19 referred to the public opinion from overseas saying that the greatest threatening factor in south Korea is the "government's" power-backed dictatorship.

The editorial cited the introduction of "state-compiled" history textbook, "revision of labor law" and control over dissident public opinion on internet as examples of repressive measures taken by the present "regime."

It termed the south Korean chief executive's moves to introduce the above-said textbook an attempt to embellish the "yusin" dictatorship of her father Park Chung Hee.

It also described the attempts of south Korea and Japan to rewrite history textbooks as dangerous.

The south Korean "regime's revision of the labor law" was the action to modify it in such a way as to enable big businesses to sack workers as they please, it noted, and went on:

Many south Koreans turned out in the actions in protest against the "regime's" repressive rule.
