Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, the international secretary of the Communist Party of Sweden and the executive member of the Goteborg Committee of the Communist Party of Sweden were elected co-chairmen of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of his demise.
