Minju Joson Assails S. Korean Political Philistines' Moves to Railroad "Bill on Human Rights in North"

Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- The political philistines of ruling and opposition parties of south Korea in a "meeting of floor leaders" on Nov. 24 decided to handle the "bill on human rights in the north" at the regular session of the "National Assembly" (NA). After the meeting, the floor leader of the "Saenuri Party" at the "joint meeting of leading officials" disclosed his undisguised ambition to railroad the "bill on human rights in the north," asserting that the "point in dispute with opposition parties was solved" and "lawmakers would handle it at the regular session of the NA come what may." Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a commentary in this regard: The south Korean political philistines' desperate moves to railroad the "bill" are designed to realize their sinister intention to impair the ever rising dignity of the DPRK, bring down its social system and realize their ambition for achieving "unification of social systems." As already reported, the working-level contact for the talks between authorities of the north and the south of Korea took place in Panmunjom on Nov. 26 thanks to the positive measure and sincere efforts of the DPRK. At the contact, the both sides decided to hold the first round of the talks between authorities of the north and the south in Kaesong Industrial Zone on December 11 and discuss the pending issues for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations. It was against this backdrop that the south Korean political philistines blustered that they would railroad the "bill" at any cost on the eve of the working-level contact. This brought to light once again the confrontational posture of the present conservative ruling forces who are displeased with the improvement of the inter-Korean relations. The south Korean authorities are loud-mouthed about the "bill" not because of any interest in someone's "issue of human rights" but because of their pursuance of their sinister aim to stifle it at any cost. |
