Abolition of "Security Law" Demanded in S. Korea
|
|
Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- South Korean online paper Voice of People posted an editorial demanding the abolition of the fascist "Security Law" on Dec. 1. The editorial said: It is 67 years since the "SL" has been fabricated. The "SL" which is originated from the "Maintenance of the Public Order Act" of the Japanese imperialists is an anti-democratic law regarding the north as enemy and suppressing the progressive and democratic forces. The preceding pro-Japanese "regimes" have invoked the "SL" to toughen their military dictatorship. UN and other international human rights mechanisms insisted that the "SL" should be annulled as it incites antagonism and jealousy among the same compatriots rather than the national reconciliation and cooperation. Democracy, human rights, inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation can't go with the "SL". The editorial called upon the democratic forces to pool the efforts to abolish the "SL" and bring about democracy and peaceful reunification. |
