Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events including a seminar, lecture, photo exhibition and film show to praise the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of his demise.
