Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK is the root cause of turning the Korean Peninsula into the biggest hotspot in the world and a stumbling block lying in the way of ensuring peace and security, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an article.

The U.S. claims it stands for peace on the Korean Peninsula and has no hostile intent towards the DPRK, but its talking is no more than sophism to cover up its sinister intention, the article notes, and goes on:

The U.S. remains unchanged in its scenario to stifle the DPRK. The U.S. is harboring a daydream of hurting the DPRK at any cost, foolishly stressing the need to lead the DPRK to changes and bring down its social system.

Big powers in the Asia-Pacific region are steadily expanding the sphere of their influence in the region, shaking the U.S. unchallenged position which has long remained strong. Much upset by this, the U.S. is working hard to keep its supremacy in the region at any cost. It is periodically escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula while dodging the issue of concluding a peace treaty with the DPRK in order to carry out its aggressive strategy for rebalancing in the Asia-Pacific region.

All the facts go to prove that it is impossible to solve the regional problems including the nuclear issue on the peninsula unless the U.S. gives up its sinister intention and rolls back its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The DPRK tells the U.S. it may wait for as long as it likes in pursuit of its anachronistic "strategic patience" policy.

The U.S. would be well advised to face up to the reality, discontinue its anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK and reckless moves for aggression and boldly make a policy switchover.
