Large-Scale Actions to Be Staged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a meeting before the building of the "government" in Seoul on Dec. 10 at which it clarified its stand to launch large-scale actions against the authorities' crackdown and moves for abusing the right to existence, according to the south Korean newspaper Nodong and Segye.

Speakers at the meeting accused the authorities of arresting the chairman of the confederation who spearheaded the workers' struggle for the right to existence.

They declared that they would stage an action for judging the "government" through a general strike to be launched on Dec. 16 and the 3rd all-out people's action slated to take place on Dec. 19.

They called on all workers to turn out in the general strike for checking retrogressive revision of labor law.
