The statement said:

Out of its principled stand valuing peace and security on the Korean Peninsula the government of the Syrian Arab Republic expresses support again for the just and fair proposal of the DPRK for settling the issue on the peninsula in a peaceful way and defusing the danger of war threatening regional and global peace and security on the principle of the UN Charter which calls for peace and security in all other countries.

Syria supports the proposal made by the DPRK to the U.S. for replacing the Armistice Agreement signed in 1953 with a peace treaty in order to achieve durable peace on the Korean Peninsula, build confidence, put an end to the war state and recover stability and security on the peninsula.

Syria wants to see the materialization of the Korean people's desire to achieve the reunification of the country without interference by outsiders in keeping with the line and principle of the leadership of the DPRK and the will of the Korean people.
