Minju Joson Slams Anti-DPRK Confab in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- There took place a "disarmament, non-proliferation meeting" jointly sponsored by the UN and the south Korean Foreign Ministry in Seoul recently.

Minju Joson in a commentary Tuesday says the meeting disguised as a UN meeting was an anti-DPRK confab of the south Korean present conservative ruling forces and the dishonest hostile forces who seek to force the DPRK to lay down its arms and realize the ambition of "unification of social systems" and "unification through absorption" in collusion with outsiders.

The recent trumpeting at the confab is not just rubbish of conservative elements but reflects the sinister intention of the south Korean authorities, the commentary notes, and goes on:

By origin, south Korea is not fit for discussing disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation.

It is a tragicomedy that "disarmament and non-proliferation meeting" was convened in such a place to discuss someone's nuclear issue.

As recognized by the public at home and abroad, disarmament and the nuclear non-proliferation are important issues directly related to global peace.

Therefore, the meeting should be hosted by responsible countries and focus on arbitrary practices of the U.S. which tops world's list in military spending and stockpiles lots of nuclear weapons.

What should not be overlooked is that the UN is being played into the hands of those imbeciles who make far-fetched assertions making profound confusing of right and wrong, forgetful of its basic mission to preserve global peace and security.

Such attitude of sitting on the fence as conniving at the acts of the U.S. and its followers keen to lord it over the world will leave a shameful page in UN history and this will only deteriorate the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the region, far from helping achieve peace and stability.
