The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in Chongjin and Hamhung cities and paid tribute to them.

Present at the meetings were captains and crewmen of the Panama-flagged ship Chang Ming and Kiribati-flagged ship New Global.

Speakers said that the Korean people have held him in high esteem as the eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, adding:

Over the last 4 years humankind's reverence for him has been fully expressed at remembrance meetings, film shows and other diverse political and cultural events held in different parts of the world regardless of ideology, political view, race, language and social system.

He will always be remembered by mankind for his great contributions to the cause of global independence.

Letters to Marshal Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings.
