Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of the Royal Palace, was elected chairman of the committee at the instructions of King Norodom Sihamoni.

The committee decided to give wide publicity to immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il and organize political and cultural events on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of his demise.
