Displayed at the venue of the event were photos documenting the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also on display there were their works and books and photos introducing the service personnel and people of the DPRK in their drive for building a thriving socialist country.

The participants observed a moment's silence to the memory of Kim Jong Il.

V.A.Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK who doubles as chairman of the Russian remembrance committee, praised Kim Jong Il as the great man who dedicated his all to the country and its people by carrying forward the noble idea of Kim Il Sung on believing in people as in Heaven.

A section chief of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences said that Kim Jong Il performed great exploits by formulating the revolutionary idea of Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism, laying a foundation for the prosperity of the DPRK and providing a historic turning phase for national reunification.

A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event.
