The letter "No. 1" written on the propelling body of torpedo which the south Korean authorities put as clear evidence of "torpedo attack by the north" has been corroded, making discernment all the more hard, the commentary said, and went on:

There is also suspicion about how the letter "No. 1" remains vivid when all the wrecks of the propelling body of the torpedo have been rotten as they have been under the sea for a long time.

The Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society and many other civic and social organizations and experts at home and abroad have raised various suspicions and refutation as regards the results made by the joint investigation team.

The above-said case has been a factor that impaired the inter-Korean relations and fostered antagonism between the two sides for the past five years.

The case should be re-investigated.
