Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in an article in this regard:

Even under such situation peace and stability on the peninsula, the DPRK's sovereignty and people's happiness have been firmly defended. This is the shining fruition and victory gained by the Korean people by their own efforts.

The army and people of the DPRK have turned out as one in the struggle to defend the country this year, thereby successfully defusing the danger of a war on the peninsula.

The DPRK has firmly defended its dignity and sovereignty, revolutionary gains and people's happiness by its efforts despite the tempest of history in which it has got neither help nor sympathy from anyone.

It has protected the people's life and happiness and made a new history of great turn on this land by itself despite the imperialists' harsh sanctions and pressure and severe natural disaster.

The DPRK has preserved peace on the peninsula and translated the people's ideal into a shining reality and brought them happiness this year despite the U.S. imperialists' escalating moves to ignite a nuclear war thanks to the tremendous military muscle, nuclear deterrent for self-defence being its pivot.

The inexhaustible mental power displayed by the Korean people this year, nuclear deterrent for self-defence and ever-stronger single-minded unity would have been unthinkable without the outstanding leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un represents the might of the DPRK.
