The university founded by President Kim Il Sung after the liberation of the country and developed into a combined base for training able technicians under his deep care turned into the best centre for training talented scientists and technicians required by the IT revolution thanks to leader Kim Jong Il.

Marshal Kim Jong Un gave a steer to the university so that it could play an important role in developing the country's science and technology, as intended by the great leaders.

The new revolutionary museum is another centre of ideological education for helping the teaching staff, employees and students of the university and other working people deeply grasp, defend and glorify the leadership exploits of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu generation after generation.
