In the New Year address, Kim Jong Un advanced a militant slogan "Let us usher in a golden age in building a thriving nation this year when the Seventh Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea is to be held!". And he stressed that all efforts should be directed to building an economic power and a fresh turn should be effected in the development of economy and the improvement of the people's living standard.

In hearty response to his New Year address, all officials and workers in different economic fields, including power industry, railway transport, metal and coal industries and agriculture, are striving to bring production upswing, with a strong will to display the spirit and mettle of Korea again this year.

They are firmly determined to launch a general offensive in a big way so as to turn the country into an economic giant and drastically improve the people's living standard.
