Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Marked
Pyongyang, January 3 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday dedicates an article to the 24th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's work "The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party".

The work, published on Jan. 3, Juche 81 (1992), expounds the iron will of Kim Jong Il to hold fast to the general line of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and accomplish the socialist cause of Juche.

To carry through the general line which indicates the general orientation and fundamental way for building socialism is a key problem related to the destiny of the socialist cause, the article says, and goes on:

The past more than two decades are the proud annals during which the validity and tremendous vitality of the WPK's general line based on the Juche idea have been fully demonstrated.

By taking advantage of frustration of socialism in different countries, the imperialists and reactionaries made desperate efforts to isolate and stifle the DPRK while talking about the "end" of socialism and "victory" of capitalism.

In the vortex of history, the WPK took the untrodden path, holding high the general line on building socialism as the ever-victorious banner.

Under the leadership of the party, the people's power has been further cemented as a representative of the independent right of the popular masses, organizer of creative ability and activities, householder responsible for the people's life and protector of their interests, and the driving force of the Korean revolution has remarkably grown stronger.

The DPRK could demonstrate its might as a political, ideological and military power and youth power before the world, dash forward towards the building of a power of knowledge-based economy and highly civilized nation, and all the service personnel and people could prepare themselves to be independent lifeguards, keeping socialism as their life. This is the precious results of the general line on building socialism.
