DPRK Citizens Intent on Study of New Year Address

Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- The servicepersons and civilians in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are now intent on the study of supreme leader Kim Jong Un's New Year address, which calls for ushering in a golden age in building a thriving nation this year when the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea is to be held. Citizens of different social strata are seen avidly reading papers carrying the address in tram cars, buses and public places. TV, radio and other media have frequently reported the full text of the New Year address or articles explaining it to help the people in their study. Officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions set it as their overriding work for the year to fully grasp the ideas and contents carried in the New Year address, conducting the study of it in various forms and ways. Such scenes can be seen everywhere in the country, including industrial establishments and co-op farms. Ri Jong Chol, department director of the State Science and Technology Commission, told KCNA: Supreme leader Kim Jong Un's New Year address serves as the banner inspiring all the people to a general advance for this year. The commission will make a great progress in its guidance over the development of science and technology this year, so that the front of science can take the lead in a nationwide drive to usher in a golden age in building a thriving nation. |
